Conserving Bridgend’s Architectural Heritage
Fifteen areas in Bridgend currently have conservation area status. This means that the local buildings have a character worth conserving and protecting for future generations, whether historical or new. The commission included interpretation panels for each of the conservation areas with the objective of increasing public awareness, knowledge and enjoyment of these historic environments.
The panels also linked in with the Digital Bridgend project that aims to provide visitors with an “Augmented Reality” experience via their smartphones whilst out and about in the county borough.
